FIU Department of Communication – JUNIOR RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Padres Activos is a research program dedicated to teach Hispanic fathers about health and nutrition. Our participants are fathers with children between the ages of 0-6.
Plan Padres Activos lessons on health and nutrition based on provided materials (along with Faculty Director and Research Assistant)
·         Teach four sessions for each early learning center intervention group.
·         Collect participant data for each intervention group.
·         Contact participants for reminders of sessions.
·         Update Research Assistant after each session.
Ideal Candidate
·         Bilingual (Spanish and English)
·         Has experience with public speaking in Spanish and English
·         Can manage groups of 8-10 participants

Nova High School Baseball Intern- Sports Broadcast
–This individual would be responsible for the press box for all varsity games (approx 20 between Feb. and April), doing the announcing and running media/music for all home games, and responsible for the set up/storage of all technical equipment in the press box.  Since the Nova baseball field also hosts a variety of events such as the Annual Dynasty game (provided by White Sox scouts which features high profile high school players for major league scouts with the MLB), the HSBN (Florida High School Baseball Network) Media Day (an event that launches the season for all teams and media outlets), HSBN All American Weekend (showcase games for All District players with colleges) the Nova Alumni baseball game along with being the venue for various District and Regional baseball games just to name a few, it will provide a rich learning experience and opportunity to interact with professionals in the field during hosted events.–Most of our varsity games are at night (usually at 7pm).   The student would have another individual in the press box with them during the games who operate the current scoreboard.

RBB Communications Internship

–rbb hires up-and-comers three times a year to be a part of our stellar team. The hands-on experience will help guide any student or entry level professional on the next steps of their career. Our requirements for these coveted positions are simple: Do you have a genuine interest in pursuing the following as a career? Public relations, creative services, social media, digital marketing, digital/web development or advertising account services?
–Solid grammar skills, resourcefulness, professionalism, brilliance and, of course, playing well with others is a must. For the best learning experience, we also require a minimum of 20 hours per week, although we prefer full-timers.

FIU Incubator – Intern
The FIU Incubator with Ratcliffe is looking for 2-3 student interns for Spring 2017 to help with social media, website design, promotional materials, and writing. AAJA is excited to announce the call for applications for the Voices 2018! Voices is a summer-long journalism training fellowship for undergraduate and graduate students that has been taught around the country for 28 years. It will be held August 6-11 during the 2018 AAJA National Convention in Houston, TX. The program is all-expenses-paid, free to apply and open to students of all ethnicities and backgrounds. -The job would be from June 12 to August 13. Duties would include conceiving and shooting video content of the campers, staff and activities, as well as editing and merging photos, music and narration into production segments. Red Tree Study – Film Intern for Bogota Film Company
The program will run in Bogota, Colombia, from June 2018, and placements will last for six or eight weeks. The Heritage Foundation Internship
