Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. As an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), Lambda Pi Eta has active chapters at four-year colleges and universities worldwide. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda); pathos (Pi); and ethos (Eta). Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline. More information is available here.
The name of the FIU chapter is Alpha Beta Psi.
Students cannot apply the semester they are graduating.
Those who want to be Members must apply and pay a $30 membership fee, which will cover a lifetime membership in LPH, including a membership certificate and a pin. Honor cord (for graduation) will cost an additional $9 per student. Once the certificate is ordered, then the National Office will receive the receipt, name, induction date and email address of each individual member that an order was placed for. Once that order is placed and the student is inducted, he or she will be a lifetime member of LPH.
