Below are some academic resources available for all current FIU students:

Center for Excellence in Writing:
Receive personalized attention from one of our trained peer consultants. Need the space and support to work on a group project? We’ve got computers, large work tables, and reference materials.

What We Do
We offer individual consultations about any writing you do throughout your years at FIU. Whether you are brainstorming, drafting, revising or polishing, our writing consultants can assist you with projects such as

  • Papers, reports, and projects for any course in any department
  • Honors theses, master’s theses, dissertations
  • Proposals
  • Resumes and applications for fellowships and employment
  • Personal Statements
  • Group projects
  • PowerPoint presentations and other non-print projects

Career and Talent Development Department:

At the Career and Talent Development Department, our priority is you! We are the FIU student and alumni career resource. Our highly trained staff is dedicated to helping you make your career dreams a reality. We offer help in choosing a major, resume writing and critiques, practice interviews, career transition and assessments, among other services to help you move your career forward.

Communication Studio:

The Communication Studio is an invaluable resource for members of the FIU family including students, faculty, staff and alumni. Whether you are preparing for a class, conference, interview, debate, sales call, oral brief or a performance, a communication coordinator from the Communication Studio can help.

The Communication Studio is staffed with experienced speech instructors eager to assist you with improving body language, speaking more confidently, organizing ideas, reducing anxiety, improving eye contact, and incorporating visual aids to create dynamic and focused presentations.

Fall 2016: Stay tuned for open walk-in hours open for all Communication students. Student will be able to work with a communication coach, peer mentor, or use the open practice studio on select days and times.
